Why
Treatment?
Approaching the later years of a long and rich life can
come with unique challenges.
Older adults may be suffering from the tremendous loss of friends and loved ones, feelings of isolation, or distress from cognitive decline and dementia. Even when seniors appear to be in good health, their world may be turned upside down by stress, hidden depression and illness. Caregivers may not be aware of these struggles; in other cases, they may be sensitive to an older person’s suffering but may not know how to offer help. Additionally, caregivers may themselves be suffering from the stress and exhaustion that comes with caring for others.

Issues We Address

However, there is hope. Research shows that when seniors receive counseling, they are less likely to be hospitalized for physical decline. They become more social and experience substantial improvement in interpersonal relationships.
